Earflo Device
Gentle Relief for Little Ears
Earflo is a child-friendly medical device that treats negative middle ear pressure in children as young as two. Designed to look and feel like a sippy cup, it gently pushes air through the nose as the child drinks, helping to open the eustachian tube and release trapped fluid. Clinical studies show that Earflo can provide immediate relief to children suffering from negative middle ear pressure and improve hearing with two weeks of daily treatment.
The Earflo Device is currently available in the US only.

Is Earflo right for you?
Earflo is intended to treat negative middle ear pressure in patients ages 2 years and older.
Normally, swallowing opens the eustachian tube (popping the ears), which equalizes pressure in the middle ear, behind the eardrum. When this doesn’t happen, negative pressure can build up, leading to fluid accumulation in the middle ear (the effusion), impaired hearing, and hearing loss.
Warnings and Contraindications (when the Earflo should not be used)
Consult with your doctor before using Earflo if you have had eye, ear or nose surgery, or any ear trauma.
Do not use Earflo if you or your child has a fever or intense ear pain. These may be signs of an active ear infection. Wait until symptoms have fully resolved before starting treatment.
Do not use Earflo if you have a perforated eardrum, an active ear infection, severe nasal congestion or a bloody nose. Do not use Earflo if you have allergies to ABS plastic or silicone material.
Indications for Use
The Earflo device is indicated for the treatment of negative middle ear pressure. Negative middle ear pressure can lead to fluid accumulation in the middle ear, impaired hearing, and hearing loss. Earflo provides a method of ventilating the middle ear by momentarily increasing the air pressure in the nose and the eustachian tube. Equalizing the pressure can prevent the accumulation of fluid and prevent hearing loss.
How does Earflo work?
Fill Earflo with water. The mask seals on the nose and releases a gentle puff of air precisely coordinated with drinking and swallowing. This momentary increase in pressure inside the nose assists the eustachian tube in opening, equalizing the pressure. Equalizing the pressure can prevent the accumulation of fluid and prevent hearing loss.
If you are unsure if Earflo is right for you, please consult your doctor.

How Earflo Works
Earflo takes the stress out of treatment by turning it into a familiar and enjoyable routine for children.
- The child drinks from Earflo like a sippy cup.
- The mask forms a seal on the child's nose.
- Earflo precisely synchronizes controlled airflow with each swallow, gently pressurising the nasal cavity.
- The pressure helps open the eustachian tube.
- Pressure is relieved and trapped fluid can be released.
Earflo Device + App = Fun for Kids
The game-based companion app transforms treatment into play.
Kids learn how to use Earflo by launching a rocket ship into space, and an intergalactic adventure keeps them motivated.
Parents and doctors track usage over time.
Earflo does not require the use of the app to operate.
Supported by Clinical Research
Studies show Earflo can relieve middle ear pressure, help prevent hearing loss, and reduce the need for ear tube surgery in children with otitis media with effusion.
- 86% had immediate relief
in ear pressure - 86% had significant hearing improvement at 4 weeks
- 89% did not proceed to ear tube surgery at 4 weeks

FAQs
What types of ear problems can Earflo help treat?
Earflo is an FDA-cleared medical device that treats negative middle ear pressure at home. Negative middle ear pressure can lead to fluid buildup (otitis media with effusion, also known as glue ear) and chronic ear infections. Symptoms of these conditions include pain and discomfort, impaired hearing, and hearing loss.
What is negative middle ear pressure?
Negative middle ear pressure occurs when the eustachian tube doesn’t open properly, creating a vacuum behind the eardrum. Normally, ears “pop” during swallowing or yawning to balance pressure. When this doesn’t happen, negative pressure can cause fluid buildup, discomfort, and impaired hearing. Earflo works by gently delivering air through the nose to help open the eustachian tube and restore normal pressure.
How often and for how long should my child use Earflo?
Earflo should be used twice per day, with five gentle air puffs per session as your child swallows water from the Earflo cup. Once familiar, a full session takes a few minutes. If symptoms haven’t improved after two weeks, consult your doctor, though many children continue to see improvement through the full four-week course.
Is Earflo safe for young children?
Yes, Earflo has been clinically studied and FDA-cleared for children ages 2 and up. Earflo’s companion app turns treatment into a game, keeping kids motivated throughout the course of treatment.
Could Earflo help my child avoid ear tube surgery?
Earflo offers a non-surgical option to help equalize middle ear pressure at home, and may reduce the need for ear tube surgery. In clinical studies, 89% of children indicated for ear tube surgery did not go on to have the procedure after using Earflo for four weeks.
Is Earflo HSA and FSA eligible?
Earflo is HSA and FSA eligible. We recommend confirming with your provider, as coverage details can vary by plan.
What is the warranty and return policy?
Earflo comes with a one-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal use. This warranty is limited to replacement of the product and does not provide refunds. Damage caused by accidents or misuse is excluded. Because Earflo is a medical device that comes into contact with your child, we are unable to accept returns outside of warranty claims.
